Welcome to my website, LineDancingwithLinda.com, built with the Line Dancer in mind.  I teach line dancing in the areas of Rockford, Rockton, Roscoe and Loves Park, Illinois. 

I first got into line dancing in 2003 when I retired from the Rockford Post Office and moved to Heber Springs, AR. I found a group of ladies there that line danced twice a week and went to nursing homes a few times a year to put on programs for the residents. The last year I was there, I began to help with the teaching and started to build up my collection of music and line dances. When I moved back to this area in 2008, I looked for a similar group but could not find one. So I decided to start my own.

We started out at Roscoe United Methodist church in July of 2008. We were there until August of 2011 when they asked us to move to Hilltop Ministry Center on Mitchell Rd. in Roscoe. Now we are dancing at the Rumba Dance Center.  See the map on our Class Page.

Over the years I think that I have come a long way as an instructor and a dancer. In fact I've learned so much that I now know I had no idea what I was doing when I first started! Luckily I firmly believe in laughing at myself, because I need to often. I have made many wonderful friends and am grateful for them and their support everyday. I currently teach two mornings a week as listed in the class schedule section. I also do occasional instruction for various groups, and our group of line dancers sometimes puts on programs by request from organizations.

Line dancing is a great way to exercise your mind and your body, and to meet many new people from all walks of life. You never need to feel nervous when coming to one of our classes. We all remember what it's like to be a newbee, and we stress the importance of having fun over worrying about perfection!
